Orla Kent

Character

The missing-persons case that became a murder - and a thread into Silo 18's hidden operation.

Updated through S3E6

Orla Kent is the resident whose disappearance deputy Paul Billings works through S3E2-E3. In S3E4 the coroner rules she was not killed by the rat poison Camille pumped into the mines: she was struck in the back of the head with a length of rebar a couple of days earlier and her body dumped in a closed-off tunnel. Her death turns Billings' case from a missing-person search into a murder investigation.

What's confirmed in canon
S3E3Her body is found, turning Billings' missing-person case into something darker.
S3E4The coroner rules she was killed by a rebar blow to the head days earlier - not the mine gas - and dumped in a sealed tunnel. Billings now works it as a murder tied to missing Supply materials.
S3E5Her murder is recast as part of the Critical Supply crisis: with the silo revealed to be down to ~two years of essential light bulbs, the leading read is that Orla was investigating the supply theft and was killed to bury it - tying her to the Mines, Ed Harwood's operation, Carla's supply, and her own boyfriend.
S3E6The investigation reconstructs her final days: she traced missing Critical Supply, suspected Ed Harwood's mining operation, saw something at the Gap, and planned to investigate Construction before being killed elsewhere and moved into the Mines. The killer likely used the same hidden route Orla discovered - making her a murdered witness to Silo 18's secret infrastructure.
Where the community lands

Fans tie Orla's murder to Supply irregularities and missing materials - especially rebar. The leading read is that she traced where supplies were going (toward the hidden Digger Void operation) and was killed to silence her; the counter-read is a misdirect to pull Billings deeper into the conspiracy.
