Everyone sent outside to 'clean' the camera lens does it, then dies - even people who swore they never would. The helmet visor shows a green, living world instead of the wasteland, and Juliette's survival proved the suit, not the air, is what kills. The visor display and the engineered suit are the mechanism of consent.
Evidence Chain
S1E1Holston swears he won't clean, then cleans anyway - the pattern the silo counts on.
S1E10The helmet visor shows Juliette a lush green world; the residents outside see only her wiping the lens.
S1E10Juliette refuses to wipe the lens, walks over the hill, and survives - the display is a fabrication and the suit is the real weapon.

George's hard drive
George Wilkins hid a drive of pre-Rebellion data that pulls Juliette into the mystery and gets him murdered (staged as a fall). How much he decoded in the ~two years he held it, how much reached Juliette, and who ordered the killing are still open.
Evidence Chain
S1E4Juliette starts pulling on George's death and the relics that hint at a hidden history.
S1E6The forbidden drive of pre-Rebellion records becomes the engine of the investigation.
S1George is murdered - staged as a fall - to bury what he found.

The Safeguard machinery
Revealed late in Season 2, the Safeguard is the founders' fail-safe to reset or exterminate a silo whose people learn too much. Fans map it to poison/gas infrastructure and the pipes glimpsed on Level 14. Whether it is an internal kill-switch, an Algorithm-triggered procedure, or something run from a command silo is unresolved.
Evidence Chain
S2E9The Safeguard is named and partially revealed as the silo’s ultimate fail-safe.
S2E10It is tied to the finale's crisis and the leadership's deepest secret.
S2Fans connect it to the gas/pipe infrastructure and the machinery under the silo.

The Book of Quinn
Salvador Quinn's decoded note reframes the tunnel, the Order, the Legacy and the Safeguard, and threads Meadows and Lukas into the same chain. In the novels, Quinn orchestrated the Year-0 erasure of the silo's history; how much the show keeps is being pieced together.
Evidence Chain
S2E8Quinn's note ('the Book of Quinn') recontextualises the silo's origins and machinery.
S2Meadows decoded Quinn’s letter decades earlier and stepped down as Bernard’s shadow afterward.

The source of Juliette's coded messages
In the Season 3 premiere, cryptic messages reach Juliette from someone who 'knows exactly what happened to her.' Whether the source sits inside Silo 18, in another silo, or in the Before Times chain is the season's opening hook.
Evidence Chain
S3E1Juliette begins receiving coded messages that steer her back toward the truth she lost.
S3E1The sender clearly knows what happened to her outside - implying access beyond her own levels.

Juliette's engineered amnesia
Season 3 opens with Mayor Juliette amnesiac after the incinerator fire, fed daily 'reminders' that the silo is at peace because she came back. By the end of the premiere she realises the gaps are not an accident - someone wants her to forget what she found. Ties to the Syndrome / memory-suppression thread.
Evidence Chain
S3E1Juliette wakes as mayor with no memory of the truth, fed curated daily reminders.
S3E1She recognises the memory loss is deliberate, not simple trauma from the fire.
