Helena Eagan

Character

Lumon heir and daughter of Jame Eagan; her innie, Helly R., is MDR's fiercest rebel.

 Updated through S2E10

Britt Lower plays both Helena Eagan, a member of Lumon's founding family and its public face, and her severed innie, Helly R., the newest macrodata refiner. Helly tried to hang herself on her first day rather than be an innie; Helena posed as Helly to spy on the severed floor. The two identities are at war over the same body.

What's confirmed in canon

S1E1Helly R. wakes on the severed floor and immediately tries to quit, then to die, rather than exist as an innie.

S1E10During the Overtime Contingency, Helly's outie is revealed to be Helena Eagan, addressing a gala as Lumon royalty.

S2E4On the ORTBO ("Woe's Hollow"), the team discovers Helena has been impersonating Helly; the betrayal detonates their trust.

S2E10Innie Mark chooses Helly on the severed floor as Cold Harbor completes, sealing their bond and the season's cliffhanger.

Where the community lands

The show's cleanest innie-vs-outie conflict: Helly loathes Lumon; Helena is Lumon. Fans debate whether Helena is a true believer being groomed as the next Eagan or a captive of her own name, and whether Helly can ever be free while her outie owns the body.
