The Others
Assimilated humanity — a single, peaceful, content collective consciousness.
"The Others" is what joined humanity has become: billions of people sharing one calm, benevolent collective mind. They are unfailingly polite, keep a strict no-kill ethos, and want only to complete the Joining by welcoming the last immune into the whole. They insist their intentions are good.
The show's central ambiguity lives here: are the Others a genuine utopia that has ended war, cruelty and misery — or a soft apocalypse that has erased individuality, culture, and consent? Their gentleness and their refusal to accept a "no" are equally real.
